That means it has one of the largest quantities and diversity of animals and plants! For this reason, it also has a great diversity of climates throughout the territory.

Recommendations for bad weather

  • In case of strong wind step away from places close to walls, trees, light wires and billboards in visible risk of falling
  • If you want to report an emergency in Mexico City caused by the weather conditions you can call Civil Protection 56832222 or the Fire Department on 068 or 066. In the State of Mexico, the telephones of the Civil Protection are (01722) 2142692, 2131748 or 01800 7134147.
  • Motorcyclists are advised to take extreme precautions during the bad weather that can lead to the presence of mist, sleet, snow, freezing of the asphalt folder, rain and strong winds especially on highways.
  • Because of the above, the authorities may close certain highways and the Secretary of Education may cancel classes. Check the news constantly to see if these changes interfere with your travel itinerary.
  • It is recommended to dress with the “onion method”, covering yourself with several layered garments to keep you warmer, which can be removed one by one, according to the place you are in
  • Drink hot liquids and plenty of water; avoid frequent temperature changes; use moderate heating.
  • Eat vitamin C-rich fruits and vegetables such as orange, tangerine, guavas, strawberries, plums, peppers, broccoli etc. to prevent disease

Recommendations for heat waves

  • Drink water frequently to stay hydrated
  • Do not expose yourself to the sun, especially from 11:00 to 15:00, when the weather reaches its highest levels
  • Wear light, light-colored clothing and if you go out on the street wear a cap or hat, dark glasses, umbrella and sunscreen
  • Avoid food consumption on the street as dust contaminates and heat breaks it down faster
  • Don’t perform intense activities under the sun’s rays
  • Always wear sunscreen
