The legal team consists of an Asylum department, a Legal Immigration and Identity Documentation Clinic (CJDMI) and a Public Defender鈥檚 Department.
Depending on your needs and the capacity of the organization, the attention that is given out by the legal team can be provided on three different levels:
Orientation
Gives you general information about legal norms, rights and procedures.
Assessment
In addition to information, clients are supported with the drafting of certain documents so they can access certain rights.
Representation
Once your case has been analyzed, the legal team analyzes and takes responsibility for developing strategies for the presentation of certain legal remedies necessary in order to resolve your situation.
Services offered consist of:
- Obtaining legal immigration documents
- Assistance in paying fines and processes as long as there are available resources and you qualify under the organization鈥檚 guidelines
- Help in applying for the recognition of the condition of refugee
- Obtaining identity documents (birth certificates of children born in Mexico to foreign parents)
- Obtaining Mexican nationality
- Immigration Detention
- Attention in cases where there have been human rights violations of immigrants
- Strategic litigation
- Referral of cases to the network of pro bono attorneys to receive assessments in other areas of law
